Jo Allen is Head of SEE Research and Engagement at The Co-operate Asset Management, which is part of The Co-operative Financial Services in the UK. She is also Secretary to the Advisory Committee of the Sustainable Leaders Trust, which, in 2007 became the first ever SRI fund to top the UK All Companies Sector. Jo has specialised in SRI for over fifteen years and joined Co-operative Financial Services in 2001 from CoreRatings, the CSR research service, where she was Head of Research. She has also worked at EIRIS, the ethical investment research service, in research and client liaison roles, and at PIRC, the corporate governance consultancy, as an analyst.
Her specialisms include Human Rights and Labour Standards with particular expertise in Burma, Sudan and supply chain labour standards. Jo was also Chair of the Pharmaceutical Shareowners Group and authored its report “The Public Health Crisis in Emerging Markets: An Institutional Investor Perspective”. She is now co-convenor of is its successor group, the Pharmaceutical Shareowners Forum.
Jo holds a BA in Economics & Politics from Sheffield University. She is married with two children and enjoys yoga, cycling travel and her book club as hobbies.
